White organdy and taffeta dress with blue velvet sash and the cutest matching blue velvet sandals. Her precious (and rare) straw purse matches her hat and flowers. Both in exceptional condition. Original American Character factory box has minor wear. In sum a rare piece of American toy history. |

18" "Alice In Wonderland" hard plastic. Ca. 1950. By American Character Company. Hard to find in factory fresh condition. Mint face paint with great over all color. All original outfit: blue dress & panties, white pinafore, long, white leggings, black strap shoes, black velvet wrist ribbon matches ribbon on dress, and black velvet ribbon in hair. Factory rubber band to hold hair in place left a minor mark. Original wrist tag is very, very hard to find. Because there are just faint signs of age on the back of the dress which will not even show in a photo, she is near mint to mint. With only that minor flaw I still think she is competition quality. In any case she will add a wonderful piece of history to any collection.

This Sweet Sue Sophisticate by American Character Doll Company is a classic1950's lady. Beautiful face with intense blue eyes. Soft blue eye shadow. All her face paint is original and perfect. Her hair is in an elegant up-do. Her original dress is the popular designer bubble dress made from an absolutely gorgeous electric navy blue taffeta. It has an attached petticoat with a gathered net ruffle for added fullness, bra, and added panties. Original pearl drop earrings, and perfect replaced heels. A bit of green "inside" earring holes is really minor but must be mentioned. Original box is VG. This particular Sweet Sue Sophisticate represents a classic era in the history of American fashion. |
